Logo and Business Design
My company would be centered on the automotive and
photography industries. I would call it “ShutterSpeed Media”. The company would
offer an array of media strategies and tactics to promote automotive projects.
It would do work for everything from small garages and individual car builds,
to major automotive manufacturers and modifiers. Services that the company
would offer would include primarily photography, visual marketing and
advertising efforts, and public relations functions. This company would be
present in every automotive movement, trend, and genre.
The audience encompasses many different kinds of people.
Some examples would be automotive enthusiasts, small shop/garage owners, high
end automotive modifiers, and major car manufacturers. Each of these different
audiences would definitely be paying attention to the company for different
reasons. Automotive enthusiasts often try to get their cars on the covers of
magazines or on blogs, so they would use the photography done by the company to
showcase their work. Automotive manufacturers and modfiers would take into
account the visual advertising and marketing strategies in the form of
commercial shoots and photography to display at trade or auto shows. Maybe a
wealthy car collector wants some photography of his cars to hang in his garage,
ShutterSpeed Media could help with that.
To communicate this idea as a logo, I would have a few main
elements. One would be a camera or an aperature opening graphic, and the other
would be a 6-speed manual transmission to tie in the automotive subject matter.
These are the two most important aspects of the business idea so I think these
should be front and center. I value simplicity and legibility a lot in design
and I plan on making a very simple but effective logo and card. People will
know what the company is about just by looking at the logo.
